At the Slovene Philanthropy courtyard in Ljubljana, alongside screenings of short films, we prepared a programme featuring a live exhibition, poetry readings in different cultures and languages, music, and a stall by the No-Border Craft crochet group.

Short film screenings with exhibition and conversation. Three short films take personal stories to examine the reasons of three women from three different parts of the world – Southeast Asia, Central Africa and Eastern Europe – to seek refuge in Slovenia.

After the screening Gašper Andrinek (Slovene Association of Journalists) will talk to Ruwaida Amer, Palestinian fimmaker, journalist and teacher from Gaza. The films explore matters of living under occupation and in a time of genocide – from killing, famine and unfit living conditions to expropriation of land and threat to food sovereignty. The conversation will touch on the effects of Israeli systemic violence on Palestinian children and their everyday life. Special attention will be given to the teachers and all others who, despite impossible circumstances, labour to continue education, community and above all preserve hope of Palestinian children and contribute to alternative forms resistance.
In cooperation with Association for Sustainable Development Focus, Amnesty International Slovenia and Slovene Association of Journalists.
